SEIL | Taffy Apple Salad - maybe a little more trouble than conventional apple salad but very good!
1 20oz can pineapple tidbits
2 c. miniature marshmellows
1/2 c. sugar
1 T. flour
1 1/2 T. white vinegar
1 beaten egg
8 oz cool whip
1 1/2 c chopped nuts
2 c. unpeeled,diced red delicious apples
Drain pineapple reserving liquid. Stir pineapple tidbits and marshmellows together, refrigerate. In saucepan mix sugar, pineapple juice, flour, vinegar and egg; cook until thick; cool and refrigerate. Next day combine cool whip and cooked sauce. Stir in apples, nuts and pineapple/marshmellow mixture.
Refrigerate.
