Go to ebay or Amazon and look for a book or two by Ruth Stout.  I have this one on the shelf someplace (photo is from Amazon).  I tried it many many years ago when I was doing the gardening.  It worked fairly well for me, but to make it work you need to commit to 2-3 years of it.  The first couple years are a learning experience.
