C IL | I firmly believe there is parental responsibility to tell their kids how they (parents) want the farm to work when the parents are gone. You just don't ever get done parenting. For example, if the parents want the farm to survive at any cost, the parents can leave the farm entirely to the farming heirs. They can leave other property, if any, to other heirs. Some parents have an "equal" priority over "farm survival" priority. In that case, the parents divide the farm equally and if a farmer can come out of the pack, so be it.
My Aunt used to say, "If you think you are fretting when you are poor, wait until you get a little money/property to worry about"! | |
