My first question is: can you get a free outlet/gravity drain?  Having to rely on a sump pump and electric to get the water away from your house can suck.  If you have fall away from the house to get a free outlet, that would be my course of action in a heart beat, even if I had to go a few hundred feet.  IF I had to rely on a sump pump, I would put a drain on the inside and direct the pipe to the sump.  I would do all I could to direct exterior surface water away from the house so as not to get any more water in my sump than absolutely necessary.
