Dinger is correct....still hard for me to get those shirts out and work with them. My dad wore quilted flannel shirts, as did my husband. My plan is to cut them all into squares and make a two sided memory quilt...one side my father, the other my husband...the two most important men in my life.

The shirt fabric is definitely a challenge to work with. My suggestion would be to concentrate on a very simple pattern, like squares. When cutting the squares pay attention to the grain of fabric. If the squares are cut on the grain they will be easier to work with and not stretch as much.

Making a memory quilt, I'm told, can aide in the healing process. Once the quilt is done I imagine it to be very comforting to be wrapped in.
