E.Central MN | If you go to gmo corn such as RR then its easier to plant all RR, same for LL. Perhaps if you are planting enough acres its worth it to switch back and forth. It only takes one mistake to cost you a lot. I talked to a few guys that switched to RR based on yield (according to them). Most of them were very good farmers. I am surprised how many went to a triple stack variety, but $3.50 corn changes things. I switched to all RR corn because weed control costs were too excessive, with two dry years in a row I am glad that I did. Mother Nature decided to hit my corn with high winds and rain, can't protect that with gmo. | |
