Thumb of Michigan | We're all non-gmo corn as well. Our rotation is a bit different than many neighbors, there are quite a few RUR corn acres in this area, non- gmo soys usually ahead of the corn. RUR corn pencils very well ahead of Sugar Beets, I don't grow them so its a moot point. Outside of a few Bt acres, glyphosate tolerant catches a lions share of the GMO acres. I've not been able to find good enough premiums to entice me to plant non-gmo soys. Non-gmo corn, on the other hand, has paid fairly good premiums up until recently. All depends on the crop in Ontario. I realize that this is a very regional thing, but the chances of catching a few extra cents without paying what I consider exorbatant tech fees (in our situation) makes it worth it. | |
