For folks like me that are not set up to handle dry fertilizers, I like to do soil tests, average them out for a given area and call our coop. Generally the tests call for 3-5 lb/a of sulphur and 2-3 lb/a of Boron along with the P & K. The coop has a new dry fert mixing machine that seems to do an amazing job of uniform mixing of a couple pounds of micros in a couple tons of fertilizer! I have been spreading this compromise/average dry mix in early spring with a coop spreader cart and then applying nitrogen as 28% in one lower corner of the strip a day ahead of planting corn. The strip till seems to mix the dry into the strip and the nitrogen is right there where the plant needs it and can get at it but deep enough, covered and to the side enough to not burn. Putting boron on as a dry product seems easier for me if it is thoroughly mixed in with a lot of other dry fertilizer. jmho. Jim at Dawn
