No, not anymore. Group 5's used to be the standard maybe 10-15 years ago, but mostly grow Group 4's now. Plant in early April, cut in late August or early September. We haven't planted any 5's in a two years, since we cut back on rice acreage. About the only time you see 5's around here are the big rice farmers that want soybeans to mature after their rice.
Splain me a little something about soybeans.
