Subject: Re: Seed beans

SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ
If I see a truck come into the plant with that clean of beans,I know one thing has occured, he has over threshed them. I LIKE to see some pods. The beans that are in those pods probably would get cleaned out anyway. The hardest thing to tell seed growers is don't try to clean the beans with the combine. If you do I 'll bet the germ will be lower. Set the cylinder slower ,open the sieves, leave some pods. The combines job is to thresh the beans, the cleaners job is to clean the beans.
