Agree w/ notillr that sidewall smear is less critical for soybeans than corn. However, this year I have fields where I can see in the soybeans every track that was made in the last year -- the tractor and air cart, the combine last fall, the sprayer for the burndown, etc. These were high-clay fields that were planted a bit too wet, and nothing ever went right thereafter. Poor aeration, poor root growth, poor beans.
