I think the reason for a little higher seeding rate is the wheat doesn't seem to tiller out as well with residue around the plant. Could be due to cooler temps from ground cover in the spring, the wheat decides not to tiller as much. I don't really know.
I know the recommendation is the more residue, the higher the seeding rate.
Kind of wonder if anyone has actually researched this.
