Subject: Re: Ripping sod

Chilliwack, British Columbia
No, mostly just the coulters get plugged with the lumps. our old plow only had rear coulters, and it was the trashboards that would get lumps of sod stuck in it. Made for a real rough day, especially with the old plow with shear pins, often a plugged board would somehow trigger the shear pin to break, and would take me a good 30-45 min to get going again.
What do you guys do to work the field in front of the plow? Just a disc? Or some sort of ripper?
