Do you have an electrical supply house in a town near you? They will do a computer program to estimate what you need. It can make a BIG difference just in how you mount flourescent tubes--east/west vs north/south will change where the light falls. I have used such a service twice--really nice to get exactly the light you want/need w/o just guessing.

Insurance is often cheaper if surface-mounting the wires--no way rodents or a stray nail can ruin a wire and cause a fire. I would not wire before the tin goes on the inside.
Air compressor--use a timer like on confinement feed runs that shut off after 15 min, 30 min, or whatever. This way you don't have to turn it off at night to keep it from running wild if anything happens.
The idea for a row of incandescent bulbs for quick light is a good one. I have that and like it.

A dedicated run of outlets, also on a timer, for charging cordless tool batts is my latest addition. Now they can't get left in a "hot" charger too long
