The blades shouldn't be rubbing on the seed tube -- if they are, then you have too much blade flex occurring and all sorts of other problems with erratic depth (effective depth) due to the furrow pinching down. The frog a.k.a. seed tube guard is mostly what prevents blade flex from occurring (3.5 mm blades also help). If you are in mellow soils, just replace the guards w/ OEM frequently. For resilient no-till soils or other high wear conditions, go to a hardened guard such as what R-K Products sells. Or take your worn guards and build them up with weld (but smooth it with a grinder before installing) to the proper spec.

Much of this is covered in great detail (with photos, diagrams, video, etc) in Exapta's new educational DVD:

(You can chastise me for 'advertising' now, but we really did put a heck of a lot of thought and effort into a DVD that should be enlightening as to how to accomplish highly effective no-till seeding, and attempts to sort out the proliferation of products and methods that have come onto the market in recent years.)
