Exactly as recommended below, 6 inches from ground 6 inches above that. Both wires hot.

On uneven ground, make sure there is no large gap between the ground and bottom wire. If so drop another electric fence post.. if you don't a 'coon WILL find the hole.

Another warning. 'Coons scout out corn early... they know exactly the right time to hit it. Get your fence out ASAP. Do not wait until you think the ears are tempting, they will beat you every time. Once they get a taste of the patch, in my experience, it is darn near impossible to keep them out.
