Subject: Re: crop conditions

Here in east central MN we haven't had any measurable precip since June 17, and that was an inch on already dry ground. I only cut one field of second crop hay and that only yeilded 1/4 ton per acre. I have a field of corn that has been knee to waist high for three weeks know and is starting to shoot out some pathetic tassles, I don't see any ears on the stalk to pollinate. suprisingly my beans are looking ok. I will need alot of rain to get a crop from them but it is still possible. I started to combine oats on Monday, that is the earliest my dad can ever remember tham being cut here. He said in the 70's somewhere they had cut them around the 20'th. They do seem to be yeilding ok, about 65- 80 bu. I'm glad I planted as many acres of them as I did.

Just a small shower here this morning but hopefully more this after noon. I am praying for rain for all of you guys that need it. To bad we can't haul some from the Ohio river valley!

Nathan
