Subject: RE: Interesting conversation

Was out walking in the fields and have no root pruning from rootworms, it is YGRW corn thank goodness I can't lay the blame there. But I do have tracks from the tractor when pulling the field cultivator that are standing perfect. Every 42.5 feet I have standing and everything under 31,000 is standing. Last week was out looking for WBC and commented to myself... boy this soil is mellow I can dig as far down as I want by hand with no effort at all. Was disc ripped last fall, anhydrous this spring folloewd by field cultivator. I certainly don't have any density layers.... just too mellow. This is 6th yr corn that has had a 730B every fall and one field cultivation in the spring for the last 6 years... maybe I need to firm my soil structure back up... j/k I see what happened, now it's just learning from it.
