Subject: Weird effect from roundup

Earlier this spring I was spraying endrows and trying to make sure I killed down a particularily nasty field boundry and I expected to damage a row of corn that was in the boundry and in the weeds. The result was 50' of a row is tough shape, but the weeds are down. However, I noticed some stunting of corn in a couple of spots. I'm wondering if the generic formulations of roundup are changing somewhat or corn varieties are have different sensitivities to roundup. It used to be if a corn plant was hit with rup it killed it dead. Could dust from the tires can carry just enough round up to give a corn plant trouble, but not kill it? I use turbo Teejet air induction nozzles and drift retardant, low pressure and there appeared to be no drift at all (the boom was also low to the ground), so I'm considering the possibility of dust carrying it. Anyone else notice this? Maybe it's a good reason to have fenders?

Thanks for your input,

Pat
