I farms some very fine blow sand fields and wheat is my staple crop. With good management, I consistently take 60 bu. wheat off this ground, when I'd comparitively grow 40 bu. corn. Plus the straw does great things for soil conditioning as well as the opportunity to follow the wheat with a cover crop for further soil enhancement. Curious why you say sand is not for wheat? Thanks.
