This year the yeild was down a bit. I think that field only did about 2500lbs/acre. That field is "Justice" variety.

We're supposed to be able to cut at about 45% moisture, but for this farm, that's way too soon. We wait till about 30% and get started. Likely it'll be less than 20% by the time we finish. Less than 13% before we start combining.

14' heads are getting to be common place here now. Some are trying the roary cutting 16' deeres, but with limited results. Here there are no pull type swathers. Pretty much all swathing is done at night. Except for "harry vetch" which is commonly cut during the day.

A couple more pics.
that same field of Justice pollinating in 2005.
two pics of 2005 harvest unloading. This will be "Laramy" variety.
A picture of that same field of Justice from the combines viewpoint in 2005.
