Humeston, IA | I've thought about containers as well in the past. One idea would be to have a few 20' units available and place the at the end of fields. Your grain cart can dump there, and possibly pull it up onto trailer or bed of a truck to haul back to the bins when full. Might be a problem in wet and soft conditions, however.
A 20' container completely full of grain is as much as it is designed to hold. A 40' container can physically be filled with more grain than it is designed to hold (weight wise).
As you mention, there are open top containers out there, so you can use these for hauling grain easily. | |
