Been using the wife's I-Pad Air 2 and find it kinda bulky, might get my own screen and wonder if the I-Pad Mini is a good size to use? Also is the homemade (cardboard) sun shield a "Must" for better view of ANY screen? I'm cheap and really don't want to spend anymore $$$'s on this Ag/hobby system.
Whats your preferred size of screen that you use?
One option I came across at the local camera shop was a tripod mount for an Ipad or any 10" tablet.

MY idea was to use that to mount the tablet on a tripod, use a 5-6 ft cable to connect to the controller and have a stand alone monitor. It would free up the awkward weight on the controller and also allow you to bring the screen to eye level while flying, while keeping your hands at a comfortable resting position. It would also be the optimum solution for glare as it would allow you to angle the screen at the perfect viewing angle to cut glare vs. bringing the radio with the tablet mounted up to your face or having to squint your eyes.
Just a thought.
