I'm thinking anything under 640 x 512 is going to be less than desirable. This (640) is the highest resolution option on the XT for the Inspire-1.
Thermal resolution is expensive - but for most of my applications - I feel I need that degree of detail.
No prices out yet but the rumor has it that 336 will be about $1500 - $1700... and the 640 will be above $5000
Before I buy, I'll want to see actual differences in a side-by-side comparison.
For-What-It's-Worth - My contact at the University says I won't be happy with the lower res.

Field of view is narrow - which means more images needed for the same area.
