Subject: Feeding DDG"s ?

Is anybody on here feeding dried distiller's grain to beef cattle and if so how do you like it? Our area ethanol plant (50 miles away) is selling their ddg's for $80/ton and if my math is right per pound of protein that is about a third of the price of $2.20 corn and even with the trucking and handling I think it will still be around half the price of corn. In order to feed the DDG's we would have to put up a hopper bottom bin large enough to hold a semi load but the savings would be enough to pay for the bin in just a few months.

Am I missing something something on the savings with the DDG's for a beef cow?
