Subject: RE: Beef Brood Cows

I use it for beef cows and meat goats. Have it augered in a 1000 bu. bin and bucket it out or you could auger it into a cube feeder. I feed it in piles on the ground and they don't leave a teaspoon full on the ground. Usually feed from 1 up to 4 or 5 lbs. /hd./day for cows. 25%-30% protein minimum and 85% TDN. Half the price of corn and almost 3 times more protein. Must feed more or less depending upon your roughage quality. I've feed it for 3 yrs. only put out mineral as our hay is high enough in calcium to balance it out. We have a plant 20 mi. away and last I bought a couple months ago was $120/ton delivered, but that was when corn was $2.50.
