I cna't help you with seed selection for your area, but.....

I planted about 7 acres around the house in various stages since the house was built 14 years ago.

Fertilizer --- you have to add a lot. I had the best results spraying 10-34-00 with big tips in my lawn spayer. It was left over from the planter, and I was trying to get rid of it -- it worked great to get the lawn going. Otherwise, we mix 1/2 urea and 1/2 18-46-00.

Seeding -- we have the best lawn were we seeded with a spinner spreader and then pulled a piece of old spike drag behind the C Allis. That did cause the grass to be kind of streaked and rowed for the first year, but in the end it turns out great.

I did hire someone with a Brillion seeder and will say that it was a complete waste of money. Either the guy or the seeder did a poor job and we had to overseed the next season .

Plant a lot of seed, otherwise it takes a long time to get established.
