Subject: Re: soybean fungicide observations

This was the first year for us to try using fungicide on some of our beans. Chemical dealer told us that it would make 3-4 days later difference in harvesting between the same variety beans sprayed with fungicide than without. We sprayed parts of some fields & left the balanace as a comparison using definite markers as to where we sprayed & didn't. Also sprayed one field in boom width strips with & without. We just looked at a couple of the fields today that the leaves have started to turn & so far cannot see any difference.

Neighbor had some corn sprayed by airplane & the pilot got into one of our fields by mistake. There is a green strip of corn through the middle of the field that runs crossways to the rows & direction of fertilizer & AA apllication but with the direction the plane flew. Not sure if this strip is caused by the fungicide or what. It does run with a rise in the field but we have had adequate moisture this summer.
