I'm just east of Danville, IL across the line in Indiana. A few are starting to shell corn, we started Sat. and one guy has cut some beans. Corn has been somewhat of a disappointment for most but I think I think the problem is that of to high of a yield expectattion than anything. Lots of 200 -225 bpa yields & a record crop were hyped in Aug. I always felt we wouldn't have a record crop, maybe in the top three but looks like it will push to make our top five. Still good corn, what we have shelled is running around 180-185 dry.

Thing we are seeing is uneven moisture. Shelled some 110 day corn planted 4/12 and it's running anywhere from 20% to 27% in the same pass through the fields. High ground is the wettest but also the best - go figure. Avg is around 23-24%. TW is aroound 55# which when dry should come up about 3#s or so.

Bean yields that I have heard are really good, 65-70 but those are from about 30 miles east of here.
