Local ADM elevator charges 22¢/bu d.p. & 24¢/bu incharge which covers till 12/31 then goes to 3¢
bu per month after that till 8/31 when you pay the inc harge again.

Bins can be a real PITA but IMO are worth it. As Ron says it opens up a wider marketing area. Another advantage I see is in shrink. Most elevators around here figure shrink at 1.4% - 1.5point . Actual shrink is 1.17% (or in that area), makes a big difference over several thousand bushells. Also allows us to harvest when we want to harvest & not when some elevator decides they want to be open.

We are seeing a bin building spurt in this area. Partly because of the rise in commercial storage rates & because of several ethanol plants being built or planned.
