While I agree you want to get the pH up, watch out for over-doing the lime application. If the recommendation was relatively low, it just might be that the soil is pretty sandy, and has a low buffer capacity. Too much lime can push the pH high enough to induce deficiencies of some of the micronutrients (especially manganese and zinc).

I agree that the increase in K availability from increasing pH won't make up completely for a low K soil test, so you should plan on still applying the potash.
