Subject: Here are your options


In the order of best to worst imho:

1. Till and plant soybeans. This will remove the greatest amount of corn residue.

2. No-till soybeans

3. Till and plant corn that has the best anthracnose rating you can find that still yields.

4. Continue what you are doing with a more tolerant hybrid.

Anthracnose can infect the plant early (4-5 leaf) or later so a fungicide at tassel time might provide some benefits. When the corn is small, the spores are transmitted by rain splashing them from residue to growing plant. Look a year down the road. Watch your hybrids because if they are more susceptable to antracnose infection you could have more disease pressure the following year if you plant corn in reduced tillage enviroment.
