Amen to draining coolant, save yourself a lot of hassle. I have had a few sleeves come out with the injector.
Tool: find an open end wrench which will match the flats on the injector. Then find a piece of 3/8 by 1 1/4 flat iron, cut slot in end to match that size. I have been able to slide that onto the injector and use a pry bar from each side of the engine to remove the injector.
