Here are some photos I took this afternoon (Saturday) in S Central MN of strip tilling into some very good yielding 70 bu soybean stubble. This is heavy black ground which will be going to corn next spring. A very interesting day. Also made some test runs in shredded and non-shredded cornstalks and some peat ground. This customer is making fall strips in bean stubble using a Deere SF2 guidance system. while rtk is usually preferred, this lower cost system was doing a very nice job of steering. Note it is tough to pick out the guess rows. Most with non-rtk systems use the guidance system to make strips in the fall like this but due to "time degradation of accuracy" shut it off at planting time and just drive. In most cases the planter and tractor seem to want to follow the same tracks. Jim at Dawn
