like on this pic here you can see the little mould board in front of the main one there called skimmers cut just a little bit off the main furrow and throws it in the furrow bottom then the main mouldboard cuts the real furrow nice and clean and you shouldnt get the stalks or sod or what ever you are ploughing sticking up between the furrows
