ECIL
You reminded me of an amusing story. During the late 60's through mid 80's there were a couple guys from Chicago that would come down to dad's place to pheasant hunt. Both were Polish and joined the Polish army because they saw what Germany was intending and wanted to help defend their homeland. So they went through basic training and then to war. During the blitzkrieg the were captured by the Germans and were given a choice: either become a POW or join the German army. As much as they hated the Germans they were aware of the POW camps so they joined the German army, which meant going through their basic training. They managed to get captured by the British, who offered them the opportunity to join their army since they were Polish. So they went through the British army basic training and served in their army. The war ended and they found themselves stuck in Britain. They were told they could emigrate to the US if they joined the US army, which they did. That meant going through yet another basic training. They went through 4 basic trainings and were in 4 armies and still struggled to hit a pheasant at close range. Great guys though.
