Just wondering about one aspect of your post-   must have been a pretty localized event to say the Brits had better food in a POW camp.   I've never read an account saying that the British troops or public had better food than the American troops stationed there throughout the war.    

Both were darned near paradise compared to anybody stuck in any POW camp on the Eastern Front, though.... 


He said “the yanks fed us c rations and Brit’s were eating roast beef!” Of course the camps were only separated by a fence.
