North Central Kansas | Things were not as nice for the Soviet prisoners that the Germans captured. My dad's unit was put in charge of Stalag 326 VIK at Senne Germany shortly after it was liberated in April 1945. 65,000 Soviet soldiers died there from starvation and disease. They buried them in long pits. Many died on the trains transporting them from the Eastern front.
