Subject: Re: Milo guards

we used a row head for probably 20 years as well, we tried a agco 800 flex head without guards and I thought the loss was too high. I would try to find some guards. This year we used a 30 foot agco flex with a crary air reel, no guards, and I really liked it. The air really pushed the heads in well. The funny thing was it actually blew the green leaves under the auger and straight up out the back of the header and up into the air! On days when there was no wind they would pile up a foot deep next to my cab door. Now I need to figure out how to keep the milo (and soybean) leaves from piling up on the feeder house. I broke the trim under my cab when I raised the header up a couple days ago because of all the trash there. Good luck
