Garden City Ks | I have 2 quarters I planted with 12” hoe drills last fall. Going into dormancy just looking at it from the pickup you could just barely row it, So not much tillering, I dry all winter got the herbicide applied in April. Started raining last week in April I guess a tiny bit of moisture in the winter because I did find wheat emerging in late feb early March. I think. these 2 quarters could do average mostly held back by patches that emerged late or not at all last fall. My neighbors have wheat that didn’t emerge until this spring and it headed last week it will be later but it looks pretty decent. I’m guessing wheat harvest will be a drug out affair. This variety I planted has good drought resistance I always wondered how the drought resistance works if it doesn’t sprout?); | |
