Only perceivable loss to dealer is trade loss, but no difference if dad trades B to C for 10k or dad trades A to C for 5k and daughter trades B to A for 5k; dealer stills ends up with B and 10k.
Here in MN they call them pass thru trades the you find a buyer for your trade; in this case buyer is OPs daughter.
