I'll be 65 in a month and a half. I went in a month ago to the local office and got the earliest appointment available which is for June 20, 2023. I ran into an insurance guy and he says that given the time constraints, it will be hard to get my 10 digit number from SS, enroll in Medicare, stop my current private plan and sign up for supplemental insurance. (I think I have the preceding right).

What happens if the above gets delayed beyond the beginning of July (my birth month). Are there penalties are anything? It's worth noting that I've listened to other guys at the coffee shop talk about SS for the past 3 to 5 years about part A, B, D,etc and yet, I don't know how to navigate the system.

So, if there's any informed help out there...go ahead and help me out. Thanks
