| Like Deere44 said, look way ahead, if you're picking the horse you're gonna ride for awhile. Especially if you're showing stress cracks in the 7200 frame. I am in a similar mode of evaluating how to move forward with a "built up" but older planter and weighing similar thoughts. But my base planter is structurally sound, though getting some age.
If theres potential for your situation to change suddenly in the shorter term where you need a bigger planter, the better resale value might be a bigger factor.
