Central Nebraska

The Nanobeam is simply and access point or station (receiver) depending on how you configure it.  From 1.5 miles away you will need a point-to-point link meaning the two radios are configured to only talk to each other.  Each will need an ethernet cable that supplies both power and data to it so you most likely need a set of radios from the house to the shop and then the shop to the remote yard.

If I were closer to you I'd offer my services but I'd encourage you to find someone local with the expertise to make it reliable.  There is more than just mounting and plugging in two radios and while I commend you for asking questions and wanting to do it yourself there's a lot more to it.  The no electricity think adds another layer of complexity to it as well.
