my first thought reading your goals was that seems like a big stretch on the wheat assuming you are talking DM basis.

Triticale maybe and would come off sooner than the wheat. My baleage back in 2021 was maybe 6.5 ton wet basis at 45% DM.

You have to get the cover off as early as possible so you max the rain probability of getting rain to get the second crop up and going as quickly as possible.

CarlsonCL is a pretty big advocate of what you are going to do. 150-200 miles north helps with summer baking heat and his soils are definitely black w/ feedlot chit.......
