West Central Wisconsin | I have been approached by a 1000 cow dairy that I buy bull calves from and sell feed to. They are looking to have their heifer calves raised until 12 weeks of age. This dairy always provides me with the best bull calves I get so I know their new born protocols are good. Beyond the costs of feed, what are others seeing for a per head per day price? I'm honestly thinking nothing less that $2 a day.
Edit: and the more I punch numbers on labor, I think $3 per head per day is more in line.
