53925 | A family in my area does this with a 1,500 cow dairy , Last I knew was 3.75/day all on them except tubed a gallon of colostrum a calf guard and inforce. loss rate over 3% out of their pocket unless determined otherwise. Example They had an issue a couple years ago with them dropping like flies, come to find out the night crew at the dairy wasn't giving colostrum they would just dump it down the drain and say "yup taken care of" They have a half ton truck hooked to a dedicated trailer for getting calves everyday. They have them until 7 months bred and I couldn't tell you what it's like after they are weaned but it must be decent money they have a nice tidy place nice equipment and just bought some expensive land in our high dollar area. | |
