I think he's mentioned before that the next generation is a full-time farmer. He also probably understands access to profitable land is the biggest hurdle farmers face.
I'm guessing he's a buy and hold guy for the most part, unless he can 1031 into an adjoining piece.
It probably just gnaws at him that he has to ignore what seems like a fiscal no-brainer in order to guarantee the success of future generations.
