Only the ones who take the time to dig in to the actual research will they know the advertisements for benefit way overblown, side effects under emphasized and the actual benefits minuscule.
Have to treat hundreds of patients for years for one person to gain a benefit.
Absolute risk benefit is minuscule. Look up relative risk vs absolute risk. Relative risk improvement is what they advertise. And that is for heart problems. They don't talk about all cause mortality for good reason.
Researcher David Diamond has some good presentations on statins and LDL cholesterol.
