I like using a fluted coulter like on an older Great Plains drill. Cuts trash and helps the openers last longer. Seemed to help emergence. The trash whips seem to make too much of a divot and hold water. Even if set light.


Agree. You don't need to run them very deep at all, really just skim the surface and the flutes kind of brush the trash out of the way.
